The Art of Giving A Directed Retreat

An Intensive Program with an Internship  

The internship in giving the directed retreat is designed to complement and deepen

the skills of spiritual directors, pastoral ministers, chaplains and formation directors.

The practicum is designed for persons who have made an individually directed retreat and completed a training program.

 

The internship includes:

 

  • Tradition of the Spiritual Exercises
  • Individual & Collective Wisdom
  • Personal Experience
  • Supervised experience of giving the retreat in a weekend format
  • Optional supervised experience of giving the directed retreat in a weeklong experience (additional)
  • Individual and Peer Supervision
  • Interview and Evaluation

Tuition: $ 1,400.00

      (partial scholarships available)

 

      8-Day Retreat: $ 300.00

      (separate, additional cost)

The internship program will be held within a contemplative atmosphere at Linwood

Spiritual Center ( Rhinebeck , NY ) beginning Sunday, February 8, 2010 at 5:00 PM

(dinner included) and ending on Friday, February 12, 2010. The weekend of directed

prayer will be March 5-7, 2010. A day program (10-4) to conclude the program will

be determined by the group – a day in April, May or June 2010.

 

The option of directing a weeklong retreat, with supervision, may be arranged at an

additional cost. The dates must be scheduled in conversation with the supervisor,

the intern director and the retreat center.
